“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

-James Baldwin

About our work together:

Creating change in our minds, our relationships, and our society can be draining without focusing on self-care. We can get burned out from being stuck in old patterns, struggling with self-esteem, or feeling anxious about the world around us. We are shaped by our feelings about ourselves and our surroundings. I use a multicultural feminist relational neurodivergent friendly approach to explore these feelings, relationships, and process the effects of your social context. Therapy can be a safe space to support, challenge, and motivate you while you’re doing the brave work of learning, growing and healing. My style in therapy is warm, open, and direct. I invite you to unmask if you’re up for it, stim if you feel like it, and get comfortable in session so that we can work together to help you grow towards empowerment and self-acceptance.

I specialize in working with clients developing assertiveness and boundaries, particularly those who have been affected by systemic oppression in academic and professional settings. I often work with people navigating the effects of systemic racism, sexism, transmisogyny, transphobia, homophobia, and ableism. I am guided by my commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ community, and feel passionate about working with my fellow trans, gender expansive, and non-binary folks (please see my letter writing page if you are looking for a gender affirming surgery letter). My experience working with clients and training professionals in exploring body image using a body positive lens incorporates principles from the Size Acceptance movement, Fat Liberation, Health at Every Size, and Intuitive Eating. I specialize in working with neurodivergent folks who are looking for neuro-affirming care to support unmasking, managing autistic burnout, navigating ADHD while in school and professional fields, and building sensory, systemic, and social support for navigating in neurotypical worlds.

I work with adult individuals and people in all types of relationships (including romantic, platonic, work spouses, roommates, etc.). Yes, you can bring your whole polycule to therapy (and no, insurance might not cover it, sorry). My experience includes working with healers, academics, organizers, lawyers, clients involved in political work, and undergraduate, graduate and professional school (including law and medical school) students. I have worked in private practice, universities, holistic health and LGBTQ community clinics.  These experiences have given me a holistic perspective which allows me to think about a client’s unique intersecting contexts-professionally, academically, in relationships, and how clients are affected by societal oppression and privilege. Together, we can collaboratively work towards emotional wellness that fits with your unique experiences in the world.

What I don’t do: I do not support, condone, or practice any therapy that aims to change your identity, whether that is your sexual orientation, gender, neurotype, or body size.
